John "Jack" Hugh Rogers, age 76 , twenty year resident of Youngstown, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Jack was born December 28, 1938 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late John and Janet (Campbell) Rogers. He began playing professional hockey in Canada in 1959 in the East Coast and Western Hockey Leagues. Jack retired from organized hockey in 1961 and on April 3, 1961 he married Kathleen Dawn (O'Connell) Rogers. Jack founded Canadian Spirit in Mississauga, Ontario in 1979 and in 1989 he established CSI International in Niagara Falls, NY. He retired in 2008. An avid golfer, Jack was a long time member of Niagara Frontier Country Club. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen Dawn; a son, Dan (Renee) Rogers of Ransomville; a daughter, Karen (Matthew) Karall of Burlington, Ontario; his grandchildren, Amanda, Victoria, Ryan, Adam, Alison, and Eric; two sisters, Margaret James, and Janet (Carl) Payne; and a brother, David (Shirley) Rogers. He was predeceased by a sister, Etta Dobson. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 10, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Oakland Rural Cemetery, Lake Rd., Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856.
