Obituary of Richard L. Webb

Richard L. Webb, age 91 formerly of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Monday June 1, 2015 at his home in Liverpool, NY where he has resided the past 3 years.
Richard was born June 23, 1923 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Harold L. and Olive (Lewis) Webb. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of WW II serving from January 1943 to his honorable discharge in November of 1945. Richard served in Company C of the 290th Infantry having taken part in the Normandy Invasion, the Ardennes, Central Europe, Northern France, and Rhineland Campaigns. He was the recipient of the European African, Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and WW II Victory Medal. On November 2, 1946 he married Dorothy (Clark) Webb and they had lived in Lewiston for over 60 years. Dorothy predeceased him in 2003.
Richard was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Niagara University. He was a self employed Accountant, retiring after 30 years. Richard was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston; a charter member of the Lewiston Kiwanis; a former Lewiston Village Trustee; and was President of the Niagara Falls Pirates Baseball League for many years. An avid golfer, Richard was also a former member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Acey of Liverpool, NY and Holly A. (Jeff) Williams of Ransomville; his grandchildren, Jacob, Josh (Lindsay), and Ethan Acey, Andrea (Scott) Davis, and Adam Newkirk; three great granddaughters; and his former son in law, Joseph Acey. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Brandon.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015. at 10:00 am in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Following the services a luncheon will be held at the Wilson Boat House, Wilson, NY. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston.
