Obituary of Rita G. Crane

Rita G. Crane, age 87 of Lewiston NY, died Saturday May 23, 2015 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness. Rita was born January 25, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude (Kunz) Egan. She married Alfred Crane on October 9, 1948 and they moved to Lewiston in 1971. Alfred predeceased her on April 28, 2000. Rita worked in the Produce Dept. at Tops Market on Grand Island for 20 years. Previous to that she worked as a teller at various area banks. She was a communicant of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston, and was also a greeter there. She enjoyed bingo and loved being involved with raising her family. She is survived by her children, Laurie Crane of Lewiston, Raymond (Sue) Crane of North Tonawanda, Sue (Richard) Gorrow of Niagara Falls, Alfred (Lori) Crane, Jr. and Thomas (Mary) Crane both of Sanborn; a sister, Lois Egan of Depew, NY; her grandchildren, Michelle (Jerry) Andrews, II, Marisa (Mathew) Martin, Monica (Timothy) Wall, Meghan (Christopher) George, Michael, Nicholas, Andrew, and James Crane, Jennifer and Richard Gorrow, III; and nine great grandchildren. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, at 10:00 am in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
