Obituary of Curtis "Red" P. Mock

Curtis P. "Red" Mock, age 86, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 in Ocala, Florida.
He was born in Alum Bank, PA and graduated from Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in Lancaster, PA Red served two tours of duty as a machinist mate with the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He moved to Youngstown in 1947. He worked at Bell Aerospace Textron for 35 years as a rocket technician and retired in 1994 from Atlantic Research Corporation. Red was a 40 year member of the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company and served in various offices including chief and president. Red was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 313. He moved to Ocala, Florida in 1995 and was an active participant in the Marion Landing Community.
Red is survived by his wife Carol Dall Mock, children Kerry, Michael (Michele), Matthew (Nicole), 5 stepchildren, 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Kay Mock.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday from 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 1, at 10:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 387, Youngstown, NY 14174.
