Obituary of Beverly J. Harris
Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Beverly J. Harris (Westerman), of Oramel, NY, formerly of Ransomville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the age of 77.
Bev was born to parents Leonard and Phoebe Westerman on January 23, 1938 in Niagara Falls, NY. She grew up one of four children.
Bev married Gilbert J. Harris (Jim) on April 10, 1954. Bev and Jim had the joy of celebrating over 60 years of marriage in life and will surely spend eternity together as well. The couple was blessed with five children. Bev worked off and on over the years caring for the elderly until she and Jim fulfilled a dream of owning their own farm in 1985. Bev and Jim retired from the farm, traveled the US in an RV for over a year and finally settled in Oramel, NY, enjoying winters with friends in Bushnell Florida. Bev will be remembered as a warm, loving, hardworking, selfless, humble woman wanting for no more than the love and company of her husband and family.
Bev is survived by her husband, Jim, her three sons, Gilbert (Jim) Harris Jr. (wife Cheryl), Gifford (Al) Harris (Lynnette), and Donald Harris (wife Mary), her two daughters, Valerie Powers (Wayne Middaugh) and Ellen Swan (Keith Ludwig), her daughter-in-law MarySue Kirk Harris; her sister, Roberta Clark (husband Frederick); sixteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her; parents, Leonard and Phoebe; brothers, Allen and Gifford Westerman; daughter-in-law Joanne Harris and son-in-law Duane Powers.
