Barbara England Gailey, known affectionately as Bobo, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston after a lengthy illness. Bobo was born June 2, 1924 in London, Ontario, the daughter of the late Murray and Doris (Willy) England. She enjoyed dual citizenship in Canada and the U.S. She lived in Lewiston for 60 years and was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Robert King Gailey. Bobo is survived by four sons; Bob (Michelle) of Rochester, NY, Tom (Kathleen) of Inverness, Illinois, Peter (Robin) of Plano, Texas and Geoff (Peggy) of Indianapolis, IN; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bobo was a well known local artist in many medium. Her works on canvas and clay were exhibited at the Lewiston Library and the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo. Bobo attended Niagara University in her 60's, where she studied and helped instruct in sculpture. She was the primary interior artist of the Niagara Falls Aquarium during its construction and illustrated a book written by its first curator. Bobo enjoyed world travel for her entire life and was an avid bridge player. She belonged to the Niagara Falls Country Club, the Youngstown Yacht Club, the Tattler, and the Lewiston Council of the Arts. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
