Obituary of Luella M. Willis

Luella M. Willis, age 84 of Ransomville, died Wednesday March 4, 2015 in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Center in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Luella was born January 30, 1931 in Saranac Lake, NY, the daughter of the late Percy and Agnes (Pearson) Cassavaugh. She married Robert G. Willis, Sr. on September 10, 1949 and they resided for many years in Ransomville and the Town of Cambria. Luella was employed by Mt. St. Mary's Hospital as a surgical laundress for 5 years, retiring in 1993. Previous to that she was employed by Harrison Radiator in Lockport for ten years. Luella was a former communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. She was an avid slot machine player and enjoyed gaming at the many area casinos. Her husband, Robert, predeceased her on September 12, 2001. She is survived by her children, Wendy (Gene) McCabe of Lewiston, Barbara A. Garlow and Robert G. (Gail) Willis, Jr. both of Ransomville, and James P. (Barbara) Willis of Tonawanda; three brothers, John (Jessie) Cassavaugh of Lanore, NC, Peter (Sandra) Cassavaugh and Thomas (Marylou) Cassavaugh both of Bloomingdale, NY; a sister, Patricia Lisak of New City, NY ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, James Cassavaugh and two sisters, June Boomhawer and Catherine Rascoe. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, at 1:00 PM in Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Townline Rd. (Rte. 429) Ransomville, with the Rev. James Bastian officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
