We will miss Allan & his thoughts that he didn't hesitate to tell you. God bless the VanDenbosch family. One of my big memories of Allan was when Allan Armstrong would take me to see Allan fighting in the Golden Gloves. God Bless you all. Red & Pat.

R.I.P. Mr. VanDenBosch. You were a friend of my dad, Bob Dixon, and fellow N.F. Policeman with my dad. I met you at the N.F.P.D. Annual Retirees Picnic and spoke with you about the "old days". To a great officer and gentleman. My deepest condolences to your family and friends. Rick Dixon

Researching for my book Hard "Hats of Niagara," I had the honor of acquainting myself with a unique, driven, adventurous, strong, unassuming, and positive individual. Allan was a very good listener. I could see in the focus of his eyes and an occasional nod, that he absorbed and noted every word. He must have kept good physical notes too, since he kept both shirt pockets stuffed with note books and pens.
Part of his story tells of how each day he would run up Lewiston Hill to his job in Niagara Falls.. The end of the work day was a little easier though running down the 200 foot hill back home.
At one of our reunions Allan told me that his wife Ruth had passed away. His loss was profound. Then sometime later the light was back in his face. He told me of his grand-daughter Dana. “She’s a gem,” He said. “She keeps me on my toes.” And that big smile bloomed again.
For myself, Cheryl, and all the Hard Hats of Niagara, our profound sympathies to the VanDenBosch family.

I remember Allan well; we were kids in the same neighborhood in Lewiston. He was a really nice young man then (in the 40s and 50s!) and it's good to see what a fine life he led. My thoughts are with you all.

May your memory be eternal Uncle Alan. I am so glad I got to spend time with you and Aunt Joan when I was home last time. You were always so good to my momma, Betty Lou, and I know she was happy to see you when you got to Heaven. You have earned your wings! You were such an amazing, funny, giving person and I was blessed to have you as family. Give Aunt Joan a big squeeze for me,, I miss her so. My prayers are with all of your family. I will see you again!
RIP,
All my love,
Bobbi Lynn
