Obituary of Donna Jean Dobrasz

Donna Jean (Parks) Dobrasz, age 67 of Niagara Falls NY, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Donna was born May 11, 1947 (Mother's Day) in North Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Donald and Madie (Grafton) Parks. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1965. Shortly thereafter she married Daniel Dobrasz and they moved to Chicopee, MA while Daniel served in the U.S. Air Force. During that time, Donna worked for the Wall Street Journal. Upon returning to the Niagara Falls area she attended Niagara University where she was also employed as Executive Secretary to the V.P. of the University Advancement Office. She retired after 34 years of service. Donna served as an Eucharistic Minister at the former St. Teresa's RC Church and is currently a member of the now St. Raphael's RC Church. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Alliance Niagara Federal Credit Union for many years. Donna is a member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge #1940 in Lewiston. She was also a former sponsor, coach, and candy lady for the Whirlpool Park Little League. Donna was an avid Buffalo Bills and NY Yankee fan. She loved Elvis Presley and had the opportunity of seeing him in concert. She also enjoyed bowling in several leagues, euchre, the cooking channel, Judge Judy, the casino, and the company of her granddog, Bella. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Daniel Dobrasz, Sr.; her children, Dawn R. (Kevin) Stanisz, Daniel (Lisa) Dobrasz, Jr., and Deborah J. (Scott) Border, Sr.; a brother in law, Ronald A. (Annette) Dobrasz; her grandchildren, Dylan D. Dobrasz (Tressa Russell), Scott D. Border, Jr., Leah E. Dobrasz, Jake R. Border, Jenna A. Dobrasz, and Meagan Border; additionally, her furry grandkids, Rocky, Roxy, Ruby, Bella, Black Cat, Boomer & Butter. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 4 - 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, at 9:30 AM in St. Raphael RC Church, 3840 Macklem Ave. Niagara Falls, NY with the Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating.(Please assemble at Church). In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to St. Raphael's RC Church.
