Obituary of Eugene H. Scott

Eugene H. Scott, age 98 of Lewiston died Saturday January 3, 2015 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Eugene was born September 12, 1916 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of the late Elmer E. and Phoebe D. (Hill) Scott. He graduated from Indiana University in 1938 with his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business. A U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, he served from 1940 to his honorable discharge in 1950 with the rank of Lt. Commander. Eugene served in the American and Asiatic Pacific Theaters and had received several service medals and letters of commendation from Admirals Nimitz and Halsey for services rendered. On June 5, 1948 he married Jane (Colbert) Scott and they moved from Charleston, SC to Lewiston in 1951. Jane predeceased him in 2008. Eugene was employed by the Pittsburgh Metallurgical Co. and its’ successors from 1950 to 1973. In 1974 he joined Ferro Alloys Services, Inc. in Niagara Falls and retired in 1986 as Administrator of Finances. He was a member of the Niagara Falls Country Club since 1951 as well as member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Youngstown. Eugene is survived by a step daughter, Nancy C. Friday of New York, NY and his grandchildren, Colbert Wright of Tampa, FL, Kimberly Wright and Lisa Barnes both of Rochester, NY; and a dear friend, Donna Pasquale of Sanborn. He was predeceased by a step daughter, Suzanne M. Friday. Arrangements were entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston. Services were private at the convenience of the family. There were no calling hours.
