Phyllis M. Lynch, age 88 formerly of Youngstown, died Friday January 2, 2015 in the Clare Bridge Assisted Living in the Town of Wheatfield, where she has resided since 2011. Phyllis was born October 2, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Henry C. and Catherine (Hammon) Wagner. She attended local schools and was a 1944 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. In June of 1948, Phyllis received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Hobart & William Smith College in Geneva, NY. Returning to Niagara Falls, she worked for the International Institute and Girls Club as well as the Y.W.C.A as Teenage Director. In 1949 Phyllis was chosen as a Community Ambassador, the first year of the program in Niagara Falls, and spent the following summer in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1951 she married William F. Lynch and they resided in New York City from 1960 to 1966. They returned to the Niagara region to settle in Youngstown with their family. They were members of the Youngstown Yacht Club for over thirty years. Phyllis received her Real Estate License in 1970 and became an Associate Broker active in area Real Estate for 30 years. She was a member of the local and national Associations of Realtors. Phyllis was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Youngstown. She was very family oriented and loved spending most of her time with her children and grandchildren. He husband, William, predeceased her on April 15, 2011. She is survived by a devoted daughter, Kathryn M. (Joseph) Fabian of Lewiston; a loving son, John A. (Carla) Lynch of Youngstown; two granddaughters, Katie and Lauren Fabian; two grandsons, John W. and Connor V. Lynch; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Sybil Greene and a brother, Hank Wagner. Funeral Services and entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Homestead Center for Sight, 1170 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14209. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, n. Fourth & Ridge Sts. Lewiston.
