Grace M. Laudenslager, 88, of Youngstown, NY, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Epson, Surrey, England on January 12 , 1926 to the late Alfred A. and Matilda G. (Cox) Furse. While still living in England, during World War II, Grace worked at the American Embassy in London for seven years. In 1947 she came to the United States and on May 2, 1953 she was married to Arthur Laudenslager. Together they lived in Town of Tonawanda and raised their family before moving to Youngstown where they have resided for the past 25 years. Grace had a long working career as a secretary for C.J. Tower and Son, a Custom House Brokerage Firm in Buffalo, and then for Paul Jansen Structural Engineering Co. in Buffalo where she worked for over 15 years, retiring at the age of 82. Grace was an avid reader and enjoyed sailing on the Niagara River. In addition to her husband, Arthur, she is survived by two children, Sue (Christopher) Doyle of Kenmore, NY and Arthur (the late Deborah) Laudenslager of Reston, VA; two grandchildren, Nicholas John Doyle and Kathryn Elizabeth Doyle; one brother, Alfred Furse of Leawood, KS; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Joy Turney. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a time and date to be announced. Memorial donations in Grace's memory may be made to the Lewiston Vol, Fire Co. # 1 P.O. Box 748, 145 N. 6th St., Lewiston, NY 14092; or the Salvation Army, 1080 Military Rd., Kenmore, NY 14150. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, NY.
