Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maureen Nicklas, age 67 of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Monday October 6, 2014.
Maureen was born September 19, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Julia (Fitzgerald) Nicklas of Lewiston and the late Gilbert H. Nicklas. She grew up in LaSalle attending school there, but upon the family moving to Lewiston, she graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1965. Maureen attended the University of America's in Mexico City where she became fluent in Spanish. She had a brilliant mind, a commanding knowledge and use of the English language, a wonderful sense of humor, quick witted, a devoted aunt, loving sister, and a devout Catholic. Maureen had a strong determination to live life on her own terms.
Maureen had and has a beautiful smile. She is smiling down upon us now, at peace and free from her struggle with mental illness.
