Eleanor L. Piper, age 91 of Lewiston, died Monday December 14, 2009 in the Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo, after a brief illness.
Eleanor was born in November 13, 1918 in Cheektowaga, NY, the daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Mohr) Berger. In 1942 she married Henry C. Piper and they moved to Lewiston. Henry predeceased her in 1962. Eleanor was a Cook, employed by Clarks Burger House Lewiston for 20 years retiring in 1979.
She was a former member of the Lewiston Fire Co. # 1 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, traveling, antiquing, and long rides with her family.
Eleanor is survived by two sons, Charles Piper of Lewiston and Richard Piper of Niagara Falls, NY; four brother, Edwin Berger of Rochester, NY, Robert Berger of California, Richard (Pat) Berger of Amherst, NY, and Fredrick (Nora) Berger of Florida; a sister, Mickey (Roger) Bentin of the Town of Wheatfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Sherwood and a brother, Norman Berger.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 18, at 11:00 AM in the Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Military Rd., Lewiston, with the Rev. Susan Keppy officiating. There is no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of WNY, 300 Delaware Ave., Suite 101, Buffalo, NY 14202 or to the
