Obituary of Richard "Dick" W. Young

Richard "Dick" W. Young Jr., age 81 of Lewiston died Saturday September 13, 2014 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Dick was born March 20, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Richard W. and Phyllis (Hoey) Young. He attended local schools, was a 1951 graduate of Niagara Falls High School , and attended Buffalo State College. He married Donna Cutrona, his wife of 59 years on September 10, 1955. Dick was employed by Young's Moving and Storage, a family business for four generations, until its' closure in 1978. He was a Project Manager, employed by CWM in Youngstown for the next 11 years, retiring in 1989. Dick was former member and past president of the Lewiston Kiwanis Club as well as member of the original 6-F fishing club in Buckhorn. He also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. In his later years, Dick and his wife enjoyed taking cruises, going to the Florida Keys and Willow Beach in Youngstown in their motor home, as well as various activities in the Lewiston Senior Center. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jane (Robert Zeglovitch)Young, Rich (Jan Danilowicz) Young, Peter (Svetlana) Young, Ruth (Phil) Buffett, Robert (Theresa) Young, and Donald (Jennie Hutson) Young; his grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Jack, Rebecca, Matthew, Charlotte, Evan, Ray, Alina, and Dmitri; two sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Hibbard and Patricia Korpolinski; and two brothers, Michael (Audrey) and David (Kathy) Young. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, October 4, from 1 - 4 pm. A Celebration of Dick's Life will begin at 3:00pm in the funeral home.
