Obituary of Edith J. Tweed

Edith J. Tweed, 72, of the Village of Youngstown, died on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her residence under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Youngstown, NY on August 4, 1942 to the late Mack and Dicie (Robinson) Tweed and has been a lifelong resident.
She graduated from Lewiston Porter High School in 1960. Edith was employed at Lew-Port Schools in the Maintenance Dept. from 1984-1990 and then worked as a Health Care Aide for HART Interfaith, Lewiston and People, Inc. Edith was a member of St. Bernard's RC Church in Youngstown, and she loved her German Shepherd "Cody", walking, bingo, horseback riding, bird watching, especially Hummingbirds, but mostly she loved spending time with her family and close friends.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Darlene L. Crowell-Jeffords of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Christine Elson, Rebecca Jeffords, Nichole Jeffords and Travis Mis; a great-grandchild, Alexa Elson; her sister, Norma Bugyi of the Town of Wheatfield; her lifelong friends, Ed Dolan and Christine Stepien; and her very special niece, Diane Ventry; as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Serba and Ruth Jeffords; and a brother, James Tweed.
A Memorial Mass is being held from St. Bernard's RC Church, Second and Hinman Sts., Youngstown on Saturday (August 16th) at 11: 00 AM with Msgr. Thomas Moran officiating. No Prior Visitation. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. Ambulance Fund, PO Box 387, Youngstown, NY 14174. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, Lewiston, NY.
