Joan Shepherd, age 76 of Lewiston, died Thursday July 31, 2014 in the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a lengthy illness. Joan was born January 26, 1938 in Ransomville, the daughter of the late Leland and Iva (Stacey) Warner and lived there her whole life until moving to Lewiston 3 years ago. She was a Housekeeper, employed by Heritage Manor in Ransomville for 15 years. Joan was a communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. She enjoyed gaming, being with her family and most of all her grandchildren. Joan is survived by a daughter, Annette (Keith) Sargent of Youngstown; a son, James (Heather) Shepherd of Ransomville; her grandchildren, Kaileigh Voelker, Leah Panton, and Joshua Shepherd; two sisters, Shirley (late Joseph) Alessi of Colorado and Ann (Bruce) LaMonte Campeau of Niagara Falls, NY; a brother, Robert (Diane) Smith of Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Geanne Lee and two brothers, Harold and Ray Warner. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Tuesday from 3 - 7 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 11:00 AM in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Rev. James Bastian officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
