Obituary of Shirley N. Schisler

Shirley N. Schisler, age 84 of Youngstown, died unexpectedly at her residence on Friday July 18, 2014. Shirley was born January 13, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Winges) Hertz. She was a 1947 graduate of LaSalle High School. On March 26, 1949 she married Eugene J. Schisler and they moved to Youngstown in 1960. Eugene predeceased her in 1985. Shirley was employed by Lewiston Porter Middle School as a Teacher's Aide for 25 years retiring in 1996. She was a long time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown where she sang in the choir. Shirley also enjoyed crafts. She is survived by a daughter, Norma (Harold) Weigel of Williamsville; her grandchildren, Danielle and Kelsey Weigel; a sister, Betty (late Bernard) Rogers of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel J. Schisler. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, July 27, at 12:00 Noon in St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, with the Rev. Richard Blemaster officiating. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
