Obituary of Elsie M. Hilton

Elsie M. Hilton, age 85 of Lewiston entered into her heavenly home unexpectedly on Friday May 16, 2014 at her residence. Elsie was born September 15, 1928 in Altoona, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and the late Rachel (Rhule) Dean. She graduated from Altoona Senior High School in 1947 and married John N. Hilton in 1949. John predeceased her on January 30, 2006. She retired as a salesperson from Sears, Roebuck and Co. and then worked part time as a food server at Lewiston Porter School and later as a part time cashier at Tops. Elsie enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her dear friends and her great grandchildren when they visited. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Ransomville. She is survived by four daughters, Joann Peters of East Amherst, NY, Deborah Baker of Woodriver, IL, Susan Truesdell and Patricia Kruppa both of Niagara Falls, NY; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and 18 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Joan Pennington and two brothers, Charles Dean, Jr. and Arthur Dean. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, May 22, at 11:00 AM in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria, with the Rev. William Lowery of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, 3924 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY.
