John "Jack" E. Palmer, age 88, formerly of Buffalo, died at his home in Lewiston on Saturday, May 17, 2014 under the loving care of his wife and Niagara Hospice. Jack was born October 5, 1925 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Burns) Palmer. A Veteran of WW II, He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943 and received his commission as a Bombardier. Jack was honorably discharged in 1945 and attended Syracuse University where he was Coxswain of the Varsity Crew. He then graduated from Fordham University Law School. Jack was a partner in the law firm of Schutrum, Howder, & Palmer in Buffalo and later served as Counsel at Cohen, Swados in Buffalo. Jack was a fly fisherman, golfer, and avid reader of American History. For many years he was on the Board of HART Interfaith and also delivered meals for Niagara County Meals on Wheels. In 1983 he married Ann (Moses) Mansour. In addition to Ann he is survived by her children, David Mansour of Lewiston, Paul Mansour of New York, NY, and Jane Solomon of Washington, DC; eight grandchildren, and a sister, Barbara Black of Norwich, NY. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Wednesday, May 21, from 3 - 6 pm. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HART Interfaith, 505 Cayuga St. Lewiston, NY 14092
