Obituary of William H. Jakubec

William "Willie" H. Jakubec, age 63 of Newfane died Saturday April 12, 2014 at his home under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Willie was born September 18, 1950 in Union City, PA, the son of the late John and Loucille (Kenny) Jakubec and was raised in Ransomville. He was an Electrician and member of IBEW Local 237 in Niagara Falls, NY for over 15 years. Willie loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, doing yard work and at night, cooking on the grill. Willie was also an avid football fan who enjoyed his Buffalo Bills. When he had free time, he enjoyed playing golf. Willie's work ethic was second to none. He was a devoted husband, and a wonderful father, Papa, and friend. He was much loved; his kind heart and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Juanita "Bonnie" (Pries) Jakubec; his daughters who knew him as "Poppy", Sonya (Webb) Nashwinter of Wilson and Jennifer Jakubec of Newfane; his adored grandchildren who knew him as Papa, Colten and Brooklyn Nashwinter; his loving pet, Rocko; seven sisters, Linda Wagner and Lou Imhoff of Lockport; Marilyn "Woody" (late Gene) Beck of Ransomville, Bonnie (Sam) Vinju of Maryland; Carolyn Hess and Gail Czach of Newfane; and Dorothy (Craig) Lynch of Florida; three brothers, Robert and Gary Jakubec of Ransomville, and Lenny (Shelley) Jakubec of Lockport; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, John Jakubec; a sister, Deborah Jakubec; and a step mother, Ilene Jakubec. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. A Memorial service will be held Friday, April 18, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Haefer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wings Flight of Hope, PO Box 872, Orchard Park, NY.
