Obituary of Donald Edward Sage, Jr.

Donald Edward Sage, Jr., age 37 of Lockport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, after fighting a courageous year long battle with cancer. He was born November 29, 1976 in Medina, NY, the devoted and beloved son of Donald E. Sr. and Dawn (Tutt) Sage of Middleport, NY. He was a 1995 graduate of Royalton Hartland High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Gulf War, serving from February of 1998 to his honorable discharge in December of 2001. Don received his LPN degree from Niagara County Community College and was working as an LPN at Buffalo Rheumatology in Amherst. He also was continuing his studies to become an RN, when he began his battle with cancer. He was an animal lover and enjoyed drawing. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Melissa (Dennis) Sage; his children, Xavier Sage of Coffeyville, KS and Emersynn Sage of Lockport; a sister, Sherrin (John) Harnish of Middleport; a brother, Brian (Linda) Sage of Attica, NY; his nieces, Kristi and Rebecca Harnish; a nephew, Colton Sage; and his father in law, William Dennis of Gowanda, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Rodney Klinzing officiating. Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to WNY Heroes, 2809 Wherle Dr. Suite #8, Williamsville, NY 14221.
