Mrs. Sherman was like a second mother to my brother and sisters and I. She always had a bright outlook and a kind word. She will be greatly missed.

I remember from camp, Mrs. Sherman had a great way of building up others, making you feel good about yourself, and always seemed delighted to find the silver lining in anything.
She touched so many hearts and planted so many seeds of joy in others that the world is surely a kinder, more compassionate place for having her in it.
Our deepest condolences go out to Mr. Sherman and all of the family in their time of grief.

I recall Esther doing cross stitch many times when visiting her at camp. In a time when most young mothers were working, she taught me that making my family my job was as important as any other job. It was nice to have another woman verify that for me. She was a treasure, with a great laugh, and a wonderful sense of humour.

Our condolences to Pete, the boys, the grandchildren and all the families. Esther was a treasure and will be sorely missed. Our memories with all at the camp will be forever remembered. Fondue and other dinners, martinis and wine, shopping and lunching in Sudbury, knitting together, just visiting and chatting, playing cards and scrabble and enjoying all the family stories. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. May you all remember all the good times in your hearts forever. A star is shining brighter over us.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peter and Family from the Porters. Esther was indeed a very special lady who easily earned a place in the hearts of everyone that she met. We fondly recall a hearty laugh, endless enthusiasm and outstanding hospitality at the cottage. From her words of encoragement to the big wedding on the lake Esther was always there. We have all been blessed by the gift that she was to us. She will be missed but never forgotten. The Porters

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pete and the entire family. We will fondly remember Ester's hardy laugh and many stories that kept us entertained for hours whenever we visited her and Pete at camp. We'll be sure to think of Esther next time we have fresh bass and blueberry muffins. She always appreciated a feed of both.

I vividly remember meeting Esther (Mrs. Sherman back then)30+ years ago when my parents Donald and Marlene first bought our camp on Atlee lake. We only had a one-burner Coleman stove in our one room cabin, and while my Dad was outside working on the building, my sister and I (I think we were maybe 8 and 9 years old) decided we would make pizza from a package "kit" using the "stovetop" method. Let's just say that it was far from gourmet and I'm not sure it even resembled pizza. We thought we would take a slice over to Esther, our new "neighbour". She was so gracious, and so kind - she ate every bite and gave us such compliments and encouragement. She was a very special lady that will be in our hearts forever. Please accept our sincere condolences
