Obituary of Lucille Borget

Lucille Borget, age 95 of Lewiston NY, died Monday January 13, 2014 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Lucille was born July 15, 1918 in New Britain, CT, the daughter of the late Alex and Elva (Trelford) McFayden. She was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls where she received her Nursing Training. Lucille had worked as a LPN at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She retired from the Ransomville General Hospital in the 1960's after working for Dr. Salvatore Piazza. She remained active in her retirement as an American Red Cross Volunteer at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for 28 years. Lucille also was a volunteer at ArtPark and was a member of the Sanborn and Lewiston Senior Citizens. She loved sports, playing golf, tennis and playing cards. Lucille was a longtime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge where she was a member of the Ladies Aide Society, the Altar Guild, and the LWNL. On October 9, 1935 she married Raymond Goodnight. Raymond predeceased her in 1976. In 1979 she married Chester Borget who predeceased her in 1984. She is survived by her children; Edward R. (Edith) Goodnight of Wilson, Carol (Mert) MacKenzie of Oswego, NY, and Diane McGinnis (Ralph Gougeon) of Ransomville; her step children; Barbara Garis of Niagara Falls, NY and Dale (Heather) Borget of Pleasant Garden, NC; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her special friend, Jean Schultz. Lucille was predeceased by a brother, William McFayden and a sister, Grace Engel. She will also be missed by her beloved cat, "Sam". Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 17, at 11:00 AM in St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Lockport, NY 14094 or to the American Red Cross, 1522 Main St., Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
