Helen Siragusa, age 89, a resident of Tonawanda Manor Assisted Living, formerly of Bloomfield, NJ and Monsey, NY died Monday January 6, 2014 in Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga after a brief illness. Helen was born February 18, 1924 in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Alfred and Luisa (Avella) Cancellieri. On June 26, 1949 she married Louis I. Siragusa. Louis predeceased her on February 6, 2008. Helen had worked for Chemical Bank in New York City for 10 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading, volunteering, and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jan) Van Harssel of Lewiston, NY and Susan (Robert) Morgan of Belmont, CA; her grandchildren, Casey (Mackenzie) Van Harssel and Lindsay Van Harssel (Ryan Williams), Colin and Harry Morgan; two great grandchildren, Ava and Emerson; a sister, Sue Rago of Suffern, NY; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Friends may call at the Scarr Funeral Home, 160 Orange Ave., Suffern, NY on Friday, January 10, from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral Services and burial will be held Saturday, January 11, at 10:00 am in Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY. Local arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts. Lewiston
