Richard F. Christy, age 84 of Wilson died Monday December 30, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.
Richard was born September 1, 1929 in Tonawanda, the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Lee) Christy and has lived in Wilson the past 35 years. He farmed as well as working numerous other jobs. Richard married Mary L. (Luecke) Graham on May 15, 1991. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Shrine and volunteered at the Senior Center in Lockport. He loved the outdoors, his horses, and his dogs. Richard was one of the gentlest and patient men we knew.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tom (Cindy), Sandra, and Richard Christy, Dortha (Dennis) Dennehy, Donna (JD) Dale, Victor Christy, and Catherine Wills; his step children, Joseph (Donna), Kenneth and John (Jennifer) Graham; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Anthony Christy and two brothers and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 am in HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
