George Lebrun

May 7, 1963 — November 16, 2013

George E. LeBrun, 50, of Wilson, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 while hunting, one of many things he loved doing. He was born in Plattsburg, NY on May 7, 1963 to Janice E. (Banks) LeBrun of Ransomville and the late George A. LeBrun. George was a graduate of Lewiston Porter High School in 1982 and enlisted in the US Air Force where he served honorably for 27 years, retiring in 2009 with the Rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was active duty with Red Horse, followed by the 914th Airlift Wing Prime Beef Civil Engineering, and a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom serving in Afghanistan in 2008. George was a 3rd generation Journeyman Millwright First Class at Carborundum Co. for over twenty years and at the Barker Central Schools as a maintenance mechanic for the past six years. George was a devoted family man. He was a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a hand to share his wisdom and advice to get the job done. Some of his many hobbies were hunting, golfing, carpentry, stock car racing, camping with his family, riding his motorcycle and spending quality time with his family, many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and lifelong friends. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 25 years, Brenda L. (Varin) LeBrun; two sons, George and Steven LeBrun; a brother, John (late Sherry Jackson) LeBrun; three sisters, Cindy (Victor) Christy, Kathy (James) Moore and Janice (Andrew) Windham; brother-in-law of Zoe (David) Miller, Marilyn (Edgar) Morgan and the late Joseph A. Varin, Jr.; and was the son-in-law of the late Joseph and Lois Varin. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (November 21st) at 11:00 AM from the funeral home with Rev. William Lowery, Pastor of the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Disabled American Veterans.
