Deborah L. Thompson, age 56 of Youngstown, died Thursday November 19, 2009 at her father's residence in Ransomville, after a lengthy illness. Deborah was born May 31, 1953 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Louis D. Gardiner, Sr. of Ransomville and the late Margaret (Coder) Gardiner. She was a 1971 graduate of Wilson High School and was a lifelong resident. Deborah had worked as a Photo Processor, employed by Wal-Mart Portrait Studios in Niagara Falls. Previous to that she was worked at the 1 Hour Photo in Niagara Falls. Deborah formerly attended the Fillmore Chapel United Methodist Church in Ransomville. She enjoyed watching movies with her family and loved to take care of them. In addition to her father, she is survived by her children, Karen Thompson of Ransomville, Steven Thompson of Youngstown, and Christine Thompson of Niagara Falls, NY; her grandchildren, Savanah Matthews and Steven Matthews, Jr.; three brothers, Daniel (Barbara) Gardiner of Louisiana, Louis D. Gardiner, Jr. of Middleport, NY, and Bruce (Cecelia) Gardiner of Ashland, OH. She was predeceased by a brother, Jeffery Gardiner and a sister, Violet Ann Gardiner. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 23, at 10:00 AM in the Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5871 Military Rd., Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville.
