Obituary of Dawn E. Schimschack

Dawn E. Schimschack, age 61 of Lewiston, died Thursday October 17, 2013 surrounded by her loving family in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Dawn was born March 4, 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lynn (Reubens) Olds. She grew up on her family's farm on Upper Mt. Rd. in the Town of Cambria. She was a 1970 graduate of Starpoint High School and on November 7, 1970 she married Richard Schimschack, Sr. They moved to Lewiston and have lived there the past 43 years. Dawn was employed by Occidental Chemical Co. Niagara Falls, NY for 30 years where she was a Manager of Environmental Safety. She then worked as a Manager for Livingston International Corp. in Tonawanda for the past 8 years. She enjoyed tending to her flower and rock gardens. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Richard; a son, Richard Schimschack, Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY; a daughter, Nicole (Patrick) Krawczyk of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Cooper and Carter Krawczyk; two sisters, Faye Olds of Newfane and Jennifer (Dave) DePonceau of Lockport; two brothers, Leslie Olds of North Tonawanda and Drew (Kathy) Olds of Youngstown; a sister in law, Judy Olds of the Town of Cambria, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Duane Olds. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME. N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Monday, October 21, from 3 - 7 PM.
