Dorothy Boyce

Dorothy J. Boyce, age 79 of Youngstown, died Friday October 11, 2013 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness. Dorothy was born July 16, 1934 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Freeman "Bingo" and Catherine (Morgan) Bangs. She attended high school at the Lewiston Red Brick School and was in the first graduating class of Lewiston Porter High School in 1952. Dorothy married James Boyce on September 20, 1958 and they have lived in Youngstown for the past 50 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston and a member of the Wilson Golden Agers. Dorothy also volunteered with the American Cancer Society and enjoyed reading James Patterson novels. Above all else, her family was her life. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; her children, Donna (Gordon) Dietz of Wilson, Glenn (Mary Anne) Boyce of Ransomville, and a step daughter, Debbie Duncan; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Bradley, Andrew, Julia, John, and Jill; and a brother in law, Paul Murphy of Newark, NY. She was predeceased by her sister, Nancy Murphy. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 15, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Bellingham officiating. Burial will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorials may be made to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co., Ambulance Fund, PO Box 387, Youngstown, NY 14174.
