Nicholas J. Holstrom, age 25 of North Tonawanda, died Friday September 13, 2013 in Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo after a yearlong battle with cancer. Nicholas was born August 25, 1988 in Lockport, the son of Heidi (Holstrom) Jeffrey and Phillip Carden. He was a 2006 graduate of Starpoint High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves. On July 16, 2011 he married Jennifer (Maiolo) Holstrom. For the past two years, Nicholas has been employed as an Electrician for Working Knowledge in Buffalo. He enjoyed fishing, Soccer Hooligans, and drawing. His greatest pleasure was being a father and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Jennifer, he is survived by his mother, Heidi (Holstrom) Jeffrey (Paul Eckman) of Lockport; his father, Phillip Carden of Berkley, MI; his son, Finnigan Holstrom and his daughter Murphy Holstrom; his siblings, Tristan and Emily Jeffrey, Jake and Jayna Carten; his grandparents, Elmer and Gail Holstrom, and Rita Carden; his mother and father In law, John and Kathy Maiolo; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of Nicholas's life will be held Thursday, September 19, at 5:00 pm in the Tonawanda Sportsman Club, 5657 Killian Rd., North Tonawanda. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Greater Niagara Fishing Odyssey Derby, C/O NTCC 10 Rainbow Blvd. Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville.
