Obituary of Donald F. Stewart

Donald F. Stewart, age 81 of Wilson, died Tuesday August 27, 2013 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane after a brief illness. Don was born June 30, 1932 in Boston, MA, the son of the late Fred and the late Margaret (Glasier) Stewart. He graduated high school in Buxton, ME in 1950 and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, honorably discharged in 1954. Don married Dora Ernest in 1953 at Bells Fourche, SD and they moved to Wilson in 1963. He retired from the Army Corp of Engineers in Buffalo, NY as a Negotiator in 1997. He was also a member of the Wilson American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife, Dora; three sons, Keith of Buffalo, Scott (Tina) of Ceres, NY, and Jeffery of Eden, NY; two daughters, Deborah Stewart and Dawn (Tim) Lutes both of Ransomville; a brother, Neal (Clara) Stewart of N. Conley, NH; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to the Wilson Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 609, 250 Young St., Wilson, NY 14172-0609 or to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304 in loving memory of his dogs, Sam, Snoopy, Sassy, & Coco. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY.
