Obituary of Jayne L. Johnson

Jayne L. Johnson, age 82 of Ransomville, died Monday August 19, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a brief illness. Jayne was born March 29, 1931 in Woodland, PA, the daughter of the late Dean and Frances (Williams) English and was a 1949 graduate of Clearfield High School. She married Roy W. Johnson on April 14, 1951. They moved to Niagara Falls in 1953 and then to their home in Ransomville in 1959. Jayne was employed by GM Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She had worked on the Assembly Line and also as an Office Clerk in Building 10. From 1982 to 2009, Jayne and Roy operated the Johnson Christmas Tree Farm from their home in Ransomville. Jayne was a member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, going to flea markets, and collecting antiques. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy; her children, Grover (Sharon) Johnson of Youngstown, Roy (Rhonda) Johnson of North Tonawanda, Sue (late Donald) Wellar of Wilson, Sonda Johnson of Lewiston, and Timothy (Jennifer) Johnson of Jasper, GA; her grandchildren, Joseph (April) Johnson, Kristen (Bob) Laplante, Amy (Stephen) Dempsey, Garrett, Lauren, Dykoda, Laycie, Cupper, Cauper, Timothy, and Ashley; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (George) Jordan of Biglar, PA and Sonda (George) Werba of Maui, HI. She was predeceased by a grandson, Lee; and two brothers, Ernest and Joseph English. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 24, at 11:00 AM in the Ransomville United Methodist Church, 2573 Youngstown Lockport Rd., Ransomville, with the Rev. Matthew Worley officiating.
