Obituary of Sara J. Owen

Sara J. Owen, age 36 of Youngstown, died unexpectedly on Friday November 13, 2009 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Sara was born October 13, 1973 in Lewiston, the daughter of Richard E. and Kathleen C. (Seewaldt) Owen of Youngstown. She was a 1991 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia in 1995. Sara moved to New Hampshire and taught at Seabrook Elementary School in Seabrook NH from 1997 to 2000 when she returned to Youngstown. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's RC Church in Youngstown. Sara loved cooking and traveling. She lived for her beloved nieces and nephews and was truly the center of her family. In addition to her parents, Sara is survived by two sisters and six brothers; Tim (Baolan) Owen of Youngstown, Greg (KeAn) Owen of Clarksburg, MD, Kateri (Fred) Gabriele of Batavia, NY, Gretchen (Dan) Payne of Fredonia, NY, Peter (Emily) Owen of Monrovia, MD, Jeff (Jessica) Owen of Bradyville, TN, Matt (Brandy) Owen of Ransomville, and Joe Owen of New York City. She is also survived by her nine nephews and for nieces, Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 17, at 10:00 am in St. Bernard's RC Church, Second & Hinman Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Moran officiating.
