Obituary of Hazel M. Lederhouse

Hazel M. Lederhouse, age 80 of Ransomville, entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday June 19, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Hazel was born March 9, 1933 in Wilson, NY, the daughter of the late Delbert J. and Emma J. (Burnett) Mattoon and was a lifelong resident of Ransomville. She married Fred J. Lederhouse at the Fillmore Chapel United Methodist Church in Ransomville on October 21, 1950. She worked as farmer's wife on their 104 acre dairy and fruit farm and went to market until 1960. Hazel then worked as a school bus driver for Ransomville Bus Lines in the Wilson School District for 13 years, followed by working at Delphi-Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 11 years. She owned and operated the Running Deer Antique Shop in Lewiston from 1989 to her retirement in 1994.
Hazel was a member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed homemaking of all kinds and especially enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. Hazel was a caring, giving person who will be missed by her family and many friends.
Her husband, Fred, predeceased her on March 5, 2011. She is survived by a son, Fred "Rick" J. Lederhouse, Jr. of Ransomville; a daughter, Cynthia S. (David) McLaughlin of Lockport; her grandchildren, Tammy (Angelo) LaGreca and David "Mike" McLaughlin; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Norman) Daniels of Ransomville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Clarence, George, and Delbert Mattoon.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 24, at 11:00 AM in the Ransomville United Methodist Church, 2573 Youngstown Lockport Rd., Ransomville, with the Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. Memorials May be made to the Ransomville United Methodist Church, P.O.
