Richard L. Robinson, age 85 of Ransomville passed away peacefully on Sunday June 16, 2013 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane after a lengthy illness.
Richard was born May 2, 1928 in Wilson, NY, the only child of the late Milfred "Pinky" and Adeline (Drews) Robinson. Richard graduated from Wilson High School and attended Alfred Tech, the University of Georgia (Agronomy), and received his Master's Degree in Counseling from Niagara University. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1954 and served in Europe in a special Army Security Agency until his honorable discharge in 1956. Richard married Norma L. (Rule) Robinson on June 7, 1957 in Cambria, NY. Richard was an avid 4H Pioneer for over 60 years. He worked as an Agent for the Cornell Cooperative Extension in Lockport for the majority of his career. He also owned and operated the Robinson Christmas Tree Farm with his family for over 30 years.
Richard was also a devoted member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Norma, Richard is survived by his two sons, Matthew of Ransomville and Kevin of Niagara Falls, NY; and three grandsons, Daniel (Stephanie) Robinson of Niagara Falls, NY, Michael and Jeffrey Robinson both of Ransomville.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday from 6 - 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 20, at 12:00 PM in St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Town of Cambria, with the Rev. Robert Hoffman and the Rev. David Duke officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Rd., Lockport, NY 14094.
