Obituary of Lucille B. Schurr

Lucille B. Schurr, 88, formerly of Wilson-Cambria Rd., Ransomville, NY, died March 11, 2013, at the residence of her daughter in Gasport, NY, while under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Ilion, NY on January 5, 1925 to the late Stephen and Obeline (Jutras) Dubuc. On June 29, 1944, she was married to Lloyd H. Schurr and together they operated the Schurr Family Farm, raising cattle, growing vegetables and fruit, and going to the Clinton Bailey and Tonawanda Markets for many years. Lloyd passed away on October 27, 1991. Lucille was devoted to the North Ridge United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and enjoyed being involved on serving on many committees, in addition she grew and raised flowers she provided for the church altar. She was a member and Chaplin of the Wilson Golden Agers. Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Rowland of Gasport, NY, Barbara (Darryl) Garrett of Fort Mill, SC, Kathy (John) McCormick of Barker, NY, Yvonne (Ken) Peloquin of Lockport; her siblings, Isabelle (Duane) Anderson, Jerome Dubuc, Lena (Eli) Rickard, Theresa (Morley) Clause, Jr., Agnes (Cyril) Printup, Rosealia Dubuc, Justine (Edison) Mt. Pleasant, Maureen Dubuc, Michael Dubuc; and also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was predeceased by her step-mother, Sarah (Chew) Schurr and a brother, Edward Dubuc. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday (March 14) at 11:00 AM from the North Ridge United Methodist Church, 3930 North Ridge Rd., Town of Cambria, NY, with Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. (Please assemble at church.) Burial to follow at North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria. Memorials may be made to any Volunteer Fire Co./Rescue Squad or Niagara Hospice.
