Obituary of Eva R. Salacinski

Eva R. Salacinski, 88, of Lewiston, NY, died March 10, 2013, at the Newfane Rehab and Health Care Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in Quebec, Canada on January 28, 1925 to the late Napolian and Julia (Holmes) Huard. In 1948 she was married to Boleslaw "Barney" Salacinski, a WWII veteran, and have resided in Lewiston since 1962. Eva was employed at Fairchild Manor in Lewiston for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, gaming and playing bingo, and was a Communicant of St. Peter's RC Church, Lewiston. In addition to her husband Barney, she is survived by a son, Michael (Janet) Salacinski of Lake Worth, FL; a granddaughter, Amanda and several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by a son, Mark Salacinski; a brother, Robert Huard, Sr; and a sister, Irene Fryza. A prayer service will be held at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Wednesday (March 13) at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum. No prior visitation. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. of WNY, 2805 Wherle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221.
