Obituary of Eleanor F. Cook

Eleanor F. Cook, age 87 of Ransomville, died Friday March 1, 2013 in the Elderwood Health Care at Crestwood in Wheatfield after a long illness. Eleanor was born April 22, 1925 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of the late Louis and Edna (Scragg) Waizenegger and has lived in Ransomville the past 45 years. She was married to Joseph Cook until his passing on June 26, 2001. Eleanor was a sales representative for Avon for many years. She also helped her husband with their 10 acre vegetable farm, going to the Tonawanda and North Tonawanda markets. They specialized in growing Asparagus. Eleanor was a lover of nature and animals, especially her beloved Muffy and Lucky. She also enjoyed arts, crafts, and puzzles. She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Chris) St. Cyr of Greenbelt, MD, Patricia (Roy) Meyer of Middletown, NY, Michael Beairsto of Scottsdale, AZ, K. Ruth (Steve) Ankley of Springfield, VA, and Joseph D. Cook of Ransomville; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Kralic. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation.
