Obituary of Nancy Brett

Nancy Brett, 60, of Youngstown, NY, died at her residence on Saturday, February 23, 2013, under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on February 2, 1953 to the late Alfred W. and Abby Vechten (Peabody) Hopton. Nancy graduated from Lewiston Porter High School in 1971 and from Niagara University in 1975 with her Registered Nursing Degree. She began her nursing career with the Niagara County Health Dept. as a Public Health RN and later was employed by Staff Builder. Most recently, she worked in the administration office at the Weinberg Campus, Amherst, retiring in 2004. Nancy enjoyed animals, movies, family, garage sales and studying Bible Scriptures. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, John J. "Jack" Brett; a son, John H. (Alina) Brett of McKinney, TX; and two grandchildren, Lily Abigail and Nathan Brett. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday (February 27th) at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard's RC Church, Second & Hinman Sts., Youngstown, with Msgr. J. Thomas Moran officiating. Burial to follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Lake Road, Youngstown. Memorial donation in Nancy's memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
