Obituary of Douglas W. Zastrow

Douglas W. Zastrow, age 60 of Lockport died Friday January 11, 2013 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY after a lengthy illness. Doug was born February 4, 1952 in Newfane, the son of the late Willard F. and Shirley (Wilkins) Zastrow. He was a 1970 graduate of Starpoint High School. Doug was an assembly line worker, employed by GM Harrison Radiator/Delphi in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was an avid hunter, NY Yankees Fan, and sports enthusiast. Doug enjoyed bowling, baseball, golf, and watching football. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by a son, Robert D. (Andrea) Zastrow and a daughter, Veronica (Norman) Thuman both of Lockport; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Nicholas, Kelsey, Norman, III, Jacob, Aliyah, Rebecca, Gabriela, and Isabella; a brother, Duane W. Zastrow of Clayton, NC; a sister, Darlene A. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria; a cousin, Christine Sattelberg and her daughter, Amanda; two nephews, Chad and Jeremy (Amie) Zastrow; and a great nephew, Cyrus Zastrow. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald F. Zastrow. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 15, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton.
