Obituary of Ann B. Grenier

Ann B. Grenier, age 74 of Lewiston, died unexpectedly in her home on Monday January 7, 2013. Ann was born February 4, 1938 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Leo A. and Cora (Fifield) Grenier. She attended local schools and in 1959 Ann graduated from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Upon her graduation she began her career as an elementary school teacher with the Lewiston Porter School District. While at Lew-Port, Ann was a member of the negotiating team for the teacher's union. She retired in 1993. Ann often returned home to spend her summers in Plattsburgh. She was very involved in the local theater in Plattsburgh and had volunteered for several summers at Artpark in Lewiston. Ann was a member of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston, the Lewiston Senior Center, and a member and former Board of Director's member of the College Club of Niagara Falls. She was a world traveler, an avid bowler, golfer, and Bocce player. She is survived by a sister, Cora (Thomas) Gillette of Victor, NY; a brother, John (Roberta) Grenier of Wilmington, NC; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Leo A. Grenier, Jr. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Friday from 3 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, at 10:00 AM in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St. Lewiston, with the Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating. (Please assemble at Church). Burial will be private in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Plattsburgh NY. Flowers are gratefully declined.
