Kevin M. Sheley, age 61 of Lewiston, died Tuesday January 1, 2013 under the loving care of Niagara Hospice in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, after a brief illness.
Kevin was born June 23, 1951 in Staten Island, NY, the son of the late Alfred and Rose (McSherry) Sheley. He was a 1969 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. For 20 years Kevin had worked for SGL Carbon in Niagara Falls, NY. The past five years he has been employed by the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, NY.
Kevin had enjoyed socializing with his friends at local establishments.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanna Sheley (John Paul Gaughan) of Lewiston; a son, Michael (Jeanne) Sheley of Rochester, NY; his former wife, Cheryl Lafreniere of North Tonawanda; his grandchildren, Nicholas Gaughan, Ethan Sheley, and Gabriel Simons; a sister, Catherine (William) Rodgers of Palm Coast, FL; two brothers, Kenneth (Chris) Sheley of Niagara Falls, NY and Dennis Sheley of Tucson, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William Sheley.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston.
