Obituary of Lawrence W. Grimm

Lawrence W. Grimm, age 90 of Ransomville, died at his home on Monday October 29, 2012. Larry was born January 17, 1922 in Ransomville, the son of the late Roy and L. Inez (Brookins) Grimm. He was a 1939 graduate of Wilson High School and worked at Occidental Chemical Co. in Niagara Falls for 38 years, retiring in 1980 as a Maintenance/Foreman Supervisor. Larry was a member of Ransomville Baptist Church for over 75 years; a member of Ransomville Lodge F&AM #551 and a member of the Occidental Retirees. He had attended Indy 500 every year from 1948 to 1998. Larry enjoyed going to antique shows, gardening and being outdoors, and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. He married Verna (Watson) Grimm on April 17, 1946. Verna predeceased him on March 18, 2000. He is survived by a cousin, Mae Dickenson, two nieces, Debbie Watson and Linda (Alan) Robbins; several other cousins; and his dear friends, Connie and Wayne Carter, Rita Bruecker, Nancy White, Ben Truesdell, and the Stevenson Family. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 6 - 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 2, at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Gorrow officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd. Town of Cambria. Memorials may be made to the Ransomville Baptist Church, PO Box 96, Ransomville, NY 14131
