Obituary of John R. Tower

John R. Tower, age 65 of Ransomville NY, died Wednesday August 29, 2012 in the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a long illness. John was born April 19, 1947 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late John R., Sr. and Margaret (Robbins) Tower. He was raised in Youngstown and was a 1965 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School. John married Mary (Austin) Tower on November 29, 1974 and moved to Ransomville in 1977. He owned and operated, Johnny Greengrass Lawn Service in Ransomville for the past 20 years. He had also been employed by the Town of Porter Water Department for 20 ½ years and previous to that had worked at Helmich Farms for 18 years. John was always working. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Bobbie Tubridy of Youngstown; a brother, William (Audrey) Tower of Youngstown; two sisters, Peggy (Jim) Shear of Youngstown and Betty (Dan) Cortelli of Texas; his son in law, David Tubridy of Lewiston; his brothers in law, Craig (Kathy) Austin and John (Barbara) Austin both of Ransomville; dear friend of Steve and Tanya Bills and their son, Brayden. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on , Saturday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
