George A. Hof, Jr. of Youngstown, NY on June 25, 2012. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family. Survived by his cherished children Joe, (of Warrenton, VA), Amy Kathryn (of Fairport, NY), and Laura (of Wolfeboro, NH). Beloved father-in-law of Arleen, Richard, and Bob. Adored grandfather of Sarah, Hillary, Annie, Marina, George, and Grace. Born April 11, 1929 in Buffalo, NY. Married Ruth Anne Hof of Broken Arrow, OK on November 20, 1951 to whom he was married for 61 years prior to her recent passing. Trained and served as a pilot in the USAF during the Korean War and then enjoyed a remarkable career with American Airlines: accomplished and respected line pilot; founding board member of APA; chief pilot at Buffalo and then San Francisco; retired as Vice-President of Flight Operations. Recipient of the Harmon Trophy for his outstanding leadership and development of extended-range overwater twin engine flight operations. Member of the Aero Club of Buffalo, QB Hangar of Buffalo, and Gray Eagles of American Airlines. Member of the St. Petersburg, FL and Youngstown, NY Yacht Clubs. A memorial service will be held at 11am on July 20, 2012 for family and friends at First Presbyterian Church, 100 Church St., Youngstown, NY. A private interment service will be held with immediate family members at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY on July 19. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George A.
