Edward Francis "Curly" "Fran" Eames, age 80 of Lewiston died Tuesday May 15, 2012 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Fran was born March 4, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Walter M. and Kathleen (Hogan) Eames and was in the first graduating class of Bishop Duffy High School in 1950. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1956. For 25 years Fran was a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service working out of the Bridge Station in Niagara Falls. He retired in 1989. He married Patricia (Harrigan) Eames on April 24, 1970 and they moved to Lewiston 22 years ago. Fran was a member of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston. He enjoyed walking the Village of Lewiston, and traveling the United States, Europe, and Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sisters, M. Lois Eames of Lewiston and Kathleen (late David) McMurray of Youngstown; a brother, Charles Eames of Youngstown, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 18, at 10:30 AM in St. Peter's RC Church, 600 Center St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Michael Zuffoletto officiating.(Please assemble at Church) Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Flowers are gratefully declined.
