William J. "Billy" Cornish, age 66 of Niagara Falls, passed away after a brief illness on Friday March 9, 2012 in Buffalo General Hospital. Billy was born April 2, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Reginald L. and Elizabeth (Krueger) Cornish and was a 1963 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School. He worked for Niagara County as a Buildings and Grounds Attendant for 30 years, retiring in 2006. Billy enjoyed all kinds of sports. He especially loved the "horses", attending the races every chance he could. He also loved stock car races and went to Ransomville Speedway when he could. He was also a staunch supporter of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Jane (William) Cosgrove of Model City, NY and Elizabeth (Richard) Mc Clure of Leo, IN; a niece, Tammy Boss of Buffalo; his nephews, Matthew & Mitchell Mc Clure of Leo, IN and Kenneth Zunker of Texas. He was predeceased b y a sister, Sarah Ann Zunker. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 16, at 11:00 AM in the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
