LEWISTON - Franklin C. Fulson, 83, formerly of N. 9th St., Lewiston, NY, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 31, 1928 to the late Frank and Florence (Dennison) Fulson. Frank graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1946, and then from Niagara University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Chemistry in 1959. He also finished his grad schooling at Canisius College. Frank served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1952, and was honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lt. On Sept. 26, 1951, Frank was married to Mary A. (Bentley) Fulson where they resided in Lewiston for 55 years. Mary predeceased Frank on June 1, 2007. Frank worked as a Research Chemist for Titanium Alloyed, Niagara Falls, for 25 years, then for Warner Lambert of American Optical as the Chief Chemist, and then for Permclip, Kenmore, NY, until his retirement in 1990. Frank was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, Lewiston, the American Chemical Society and the 3-F Club. He enjoyed walking, gardening, hunting and fishing, the History channel, and mostly spending time with his grandchildren and family. He is survived by two daughters, Marianne (Keith) Maynard of Bloomfield, NY, Sue (Steve) Griebner of Laurel, MD; six grandchildren, Keith (Sue Ann) Maynard II, Marty and John Maynard, Katy Fulson-Woytek, Michael Fulson Woytek, Emma Griebner; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Colin and Megan Maynard. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (Feb. 22nd) at 10:00 AM from the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston, with Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. Entombment in Holy Angels Chapel Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Messiah.
