Elizabeth Storms

Elizabeth A. Storms, age 71 of Sanborn, died unexpectedly on Sunday February 12, 2012 at her home in Sanborn. Elizabeth was born November 27, 1940 in Dorchester, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (McLaughlin) Doherty. She received her Master's Degree in English Education from Northeastern University in Boston. Elizabeth moved here with her late husband, Lt. Col. Peter M. Storms, and she has resided in Sanborn the last forty years. Peter had predeceased her on February 15, 1986. Elizabeth was employed by the Internal Revenue Service at their Cheektowaga Branch for 10 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville and a member of its' Altar Rosary Society. Elizabeth enjoyed volunteering at the church, reading and gardening. She was a member of the Garden Club of Lockport as well. She is survived by her children, Carolyn E. Storms, Ph.D. (Brent Stoltman) of Buffalo, Winifred M. Storms of Lake Worth, FL, and Peter M. (Robin) Storms, II of Houston, TX; two sisters, Winifred Doherty of Boston, MA and Katherine Ford of Scituate, MA, and a brother, Brian Bernard Doherty of Boston, MA. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 -8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 17, at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Townline Rd. (Rte. 429) Ransomville, with the Rev. Joseph Badding officiating. (Please assemble at Church) Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester, MA.
